Set across from a raised 10,000-square-foot public garden dotted with greenery and art, The Beaumont feels worlds away – rather than steps away – from London’s bustling Oxford Street. It is a very special boutique hotel and I connected with its engaging General Manager Jannes Soerensen for 10 quick questions before its long-awaited re-opening.
What did you miss most about The Beaumont?
My team and our guests.
Best compliment you’ve received from a guest?
Guests are always touched by the sincerity and generosity of my team here at The Beaumont. They truly care and they do the right thing because they want to and not because they have to. That never goes unseen, and I am very proud of them.
Favourite meal at The Colony Grill?
The Tomahawk Steak is my true favourite! I also very much enjoy our Superfood Salad.
You’re at The Magritte Bar – what are you having?
Our “Clover Club,” a mix of gin, raspberries, lemon juice and sugar.
Your go-to spa treatment?
Any of our signature Hammam Treatments.
Favourite room?
I love them all, but if pressed I would say our beautiful Terrace Suite.
Most eccentric request?
Working in NYC as a concierge, a guest asked me once for a three-metre ice sculpture in the form of a rose to surprise his girlfriend. Needless to say, she was very impressed!
What’s one thing people might not know about The Beaumont?
That the story and legacy of Jimmy Beaumont still is the guiding compass for so many decisions we take. I encourage all guests to ask me about Jimmy when they see me...
You can’t visit London and not…
…take in the city views from Waterloo Bridge.
Describe The Beaumont in five words.
I’ll use seven if I may: a place where people feel they belong.
